The Alice Lake Loop trail is a family-friendly walk located near Squamish. It's an accessible route that takes you around the picturesque Alice Lake, passing through forested areas with towering trees and by the water's edge. The loop is perfect for those looking for a leisurely walk in nature without the commitment of a full-day hike. For a bit more exploration, there are several smaller trails branching off that allow for additional discovery without adding significant difficulty to the outing.
This loop around Alice Lake is relatively flat, making it a great option for hikers of all abilities, including families with children. The trail itself is well-defined and includes short boardwalks and bridges. It's around 2km in length and involves neglibible elevation. The paths are well-maintained and the trail is stroller and wheelchair friendly.
There is a large campground at Alice Lake that is very popular during the summer and more generally on weekends. Most of the sites are done by reservation. They do keep a few for spots walk-ins on the day, though you generally have to be there very early to secure one of these.
With Alice Lake being very family-friendly, there is also a playground in the campground, as well as the lake and beach to play at.
There are plenty of facilities including showers, toilets, picnic areas and camp fire areas, and for vehicles there are the usual hook-ups and sani-dump station.
Drive north out of Squamish on Highway 99 (The Sea to Sky), and continue past the northern part of Squamish too. About 2km further, you'll come to a significant staggered cross road, signposted to Squamish Valley and Paradise Valley to the left. Instead, take the non-marked right turn to Alice Lake and follow the signs to the day parking lot, unless you have a camping resrvation.
