Brockton Peak is a popular trail, quickly getting you out into nature, with great views back over the city. At under 4km, the trail is very dooable after work or as part of a regular fitness routine. From the Mount Seymour Resort car park, you hike up along side the ski resort runs, and quickly find yourself in the Mount Seymour alpine.
The trail is generally wide and well maintained and sees heavy foot traffic up as far as Brockton Point. Keep an eye on your map to ensure you stick to the correct route. There are many side trails that lead down to nearby lakes and other forested areas. As with each of the three North Shore Mountains, they can become VERY crowded during summer weekends, with traffic queues lining up along the road to get to the resort. Go early to avoid frustration.
Wild camping is permitted beyond at or beyond Brockton Point. Pack out what you pack in. This spot makes a great afterwork and overnight camp, perfect for some spectacular sunsets and sunrises.
Conveniently located only 40 minutes from downtown Vancouver, simply take the Mount Seymour Parkway exit off Highway 1 o the North Shore and follow the well-marked signs. Ample parking is available. The road up to Mount Seymour gains a lot of elevation very quickly - take care around winter months - these roads can quickly become a winter white out.
