Crooked Falls is a popular hike located on the southern banks of the Squamish Valley. With its shady forested trail, moderate stats and a rewarding cascading waterfall at the end, it’s a great option for a hot summer's day - particularly if you want to be hit by a refreshing wall of spray. The trail is rooty and steep in sections, uneven and not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers, though dogs are permitted on a leash. Read more about the trail conditions below.
The trail to Crooked Falls covers a variety of terrain, though almost all of it is covered by trees, making it a good sunny day option. The trail begins at an obvious yellow gate on the near side of the eastern side of Ashlu Creek. This is approximately 200m before the official "Sigurd Creek Trailhead". The trail is steep, rugged, rooty and even in sections, with multple downed trees to scramble over or under. Slippery when wet, take care and enjoy this rewarding hike!
Crooked Falls Trail is approximately 30 minutes from Squamish. From the Squamish River Forest Service Road, take the Ashlu Creek FSR left across the wooden bridge, the same bridge you'd use to reach the Squamish Riverside Camping. After crossing the bridge follow the FSR until you reach a yellow gate. Even if the gate is open, park up just before crossing Ashlu Creek. The FSRs to reach Crooked Falls are flat, but can have significant pot holes and odd rocks to avoid. Certainly passable in a regular car when I went, though conditions may have changed. Leave a photo in the review of the road conditions when you go.
