Jericho Beach & Spanish Banks

Starting at Jericho Beach, this trail immediately greets you with views of English Bay and the mountains across the water. This out-and-back route is a gentle 7km journey, that follows paved trails all the way to Spanish Banks. With easy access from the city, this trail is a favorite among locals and tourists alike, as you get constant views all the way along. You'll walk on well-maintained paths, with enough space to feel comfortable even when it's bustling with fellow beachgoers. As you make your way towards Spanish Banks, you can choose to stay on the paved paths or walk down on the beach.

With only 50 meters of elevation gain and an estimated completion time of about 2.5 hours, this trail is pretty easy-going, making it accessible for all ages and fitness levels. You can complete as much or as little as you like before turning around. You'll find the route lively, especially on sunny days, as people come out to enjoy volleyball, picnicking, cycling and the general epicness of Vancouver's surrounding landscapes.

The trail: Well signed or in urban environment with people around to ask for directions. Phone signal in BC is not reliable when hiking. Always carry an OFFLINE map. I recommend and use AllTrails+ and Gaia Maps.
