The trail to Lindeman Lake is a low effort high reward trail that takes you to a spectacular aquamarine lake in the forest. Lindeman Lake in particular is very popular due to its incredible blue color, and means that at weekends and during busy periods, the lake is one of the busiest trails around.
You'll want to be there well in advance of sunset in order to see the lake's color at its finest.
The trail map below shows an extended trail, which extends out to Green Drop Lake beyond, but more than doubles your hiking time. You should be fit and capable of hiking for atleast 7 hours if planning to take on this extended version of the hike.
From the parking lot of Chilliwack Lake road, take the trailhead at the far end of the car park. The trail initially meanders down a wide gravel path, before quickly reaching rougher terrain where you'll need to navigate some steep sections of roots and rocks. Along the shores of Lindeman Lake the trail is relatively easy and goes all the way to the campground. Beyond the camp, you'll cross a short boulder field and then follow some steps down onto a short boardwalk section through some small ponds and streams. This section is well worth doing even if you do not intend to continue up to Greendrop Lake.
Beyond this, the hike to Greendrop Lake extends the trail significantly, but covers less steep terrain. The distance is approximately three times, and the elevation is double.
