Despite being relatively near to my house, I only discovered the West Dyke Trail quite recently. Running the length of the western side of Richmond, this very flat very accessible walk runs alongside the Sturgeon Banks Wildlife Management Area. With plenty of bird and marine life exploring this coastal wetland, the raised up walkway makes a great vantage point to spot wildlife. Coyotes are regularly spotted searching for their next feathered snack.

The entire trail from start to finish is wide, flat and made of fine gravel. Very accessible for all. Additionally, there a multiple side paths running further into the mud flats that you can choose to explore. Since the walk is coastal, it can be windy. Bring appropriate layers.
The trail can be started from multiple points. The north end start point is at River Road Parking, whilst the south end is accessed from the town of Steveston. Transit options are availabel with Translink.
